Team

The Tumbleweed team consists of four members: Leo, Bre, Steven, and Luke. Each brings their own unique background and talents to the group.

Leonardo Belmar da Costa started his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami and transferred to Columbia after his sophomore year. He brings experience in robotics from past internships and research.

Breanna Johnson is a 3-2 student at Columbia originally from Eckerd College. She worked as a researcher at the University of Miami on active tensegrity space structures and is a recipient of the FloridaSpace Grant Consortium (FSCG) scholarship.

Steven Hyland started his undergraduate studies at Westchester Community College before transferring to Columbia in 2017. He has worked on renewable energy and material science in both professional and research settings.

Luke Gile is a 3-2 student who started his undergraduate studies in International Affairs at Georgetown University. He has worked in a business capacity at Collins Aerospace and in a private consultant role.
